Louise Bennett-Coverley, 'Ms Lou'

Sir Bill MorrisIn modern Britain, the richness of our racial and cultural diversity is sadly mirrored by a poverty of opportunity and expectation for black and ethnic minority young people. But I truly believe that the philosophy of empowerment and support underpinning 'One Hand Cant Clap' is one that can make a difference.

I am also clear that the values of 'One Hand Cant Clap' on black and ethnic minority young people will convince them that every ladder of opportunity is theirs to climb.

Through its efforts both to develop role models and to understand, involve and respect those in our community who are too often marginalized, excluded or discriminated against, 'One Hand Cant Clap' is rightly seeking to help young people of colour to increase their self-esteem and to build a positive image of themselves, of their culture, of their race and of their community.

I wish the organisation every success, safe in the knowledge that it has the will to win and the vision to succeed.

Sir Bill Morris
