Lorlett Hudson is an acclaimed dynamic and motivational speaker. She is commonly known as the woman of proverbs by many. Her pioneering and innovative work is borne out of her passion to bring history alive by using proverbs "to reflect on our history". In addition, to educate, inform, entertain, and empower people with life skills developed and used by our ancestors.

Lorlett's main focus is acting on your passion, be the best you can be, and create your own history. Innovatively, Lorlett demonstrates the importance of our creative history and the use of proverbs at conferences, in schools, and through her "Common Ties - Coming Together Proverb" parties.

To support her work, Lorlett has produced, marketed and distributed the Multi-award winning learning tool - "Things Mama Used To Say" proverbs cards on a global scale. Acknowledging proverbs as pivotal in her life own survival, Lorlett uses the cards to teach English, history, storytelling and day-to-day survival strategies in today's hectic, hustle and bustle society.

Lorlett’s training sessions often transcend into innovative history lessons surrounding the cards and their origin. These sessions are delivered locally and nationally allowing delegates to participate in exercises that enables them to reflect on their own history, learning about our ancestors enterprising spirit and the significance of proverbs. Teaching how proverbs were used as an innovative vehicle for transmitting ‘folk wisdom’ across generations, share personal stories about the value and significance of proverbs in our everyday lives, and to consider the modern-day relevance of proverbs as a means of contributing to community cohesion through similar experiences.

Exploiting many angles to support the continued development of Britain’s rich cultural heritage infused with that of the Caribbean, a series of workshops, road-shows, seminars in schools, weekend residential and proverb parties have been delivered to delegates, bridging cultures, nurturing ties between different generations and are proving to be very popular with participants.

Nearly seven years and several cities on, with hundreds of participants in attendance from diverse background and national media coverage in tow at each event the innovative Lorlett have found a formula that works.
