Foundations
One Hand Cant Clap is a multi-award winning Leadership Development enterprise founded in 2000.  We provides personal development training for African Caribbean people globally using a foundation of ancestral wisdom of Caribbean Proverbs.

We transform lives working with organisations and Individuals  in transition and change through inclusive leadership development training.

We value teamwork, partnership and collaboration.

One Hand Cant Clap, as a concept, is an execution strategy for transforming lives and driving extraordinary results both personal and professional.

The name is a Jamaican proverb that translates: It takes a village to raise a child - ''Collective Work and Responsibility''. People, community and support  is at the heart of what we do.

Our proverbs are one of the best known manifestations of Caribbean culture, with each island having their own variations.  They were part of our upbringing, and we remember them with a laugh: in truth, they are a vital source of wisdom and a reference point in our training to transform lives, develop everyday life skills for surviving and thriving in a changing world.

Our strengths come from our people, the community the relationships between us, and our willingness to work together towards a common goal. We believe that no one can succeed alone - we all need support, this is the foundation of our enterprise.

Celebrating the (R) word - Resilience

Resilience is one of the principal qualities that has sustained us, and at a time when it is increasingly recognised as one of the vital ingredients of effective leadership, it is right that we honour and recognise the strength we draw from our heritage.

Our annual Common Ties event is about honouring and celebrating our resilience, our proverbs and other aspects of Caribbean culture and heritage - traditions with continuing relevance today.

We believe that  there is urgency in preserving Caribbean culture, heritage and our stories. The older generation is passing away and we need to capture their stories as an integral part of British and European history, changing the course of what is an established but incomplete history.

Representation matters
''We believe that you cant do what you cant see''

From a very early age I had great mentors and knew and experienced highly talented people within my community. Talented people with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and frame of mind.  I am motivated to keep this spirit alive - I am that possibility - and a reminder to those of us who fear losing the entrepreneurial spirit and tenacity from our community that it remains.

This is what drives me now; a passion to build exceptional leaders who  create their own business, advance their career, increase  their personal wealth, discover their passions, creativity, ambitions, cultural heritage, entrepreneurial spirit and history.

What we do......

Leadership development.

''Everything rises and falls on Leadership'' - John Maxwell

We believe in leadership and what we know for sure is that when people are given the right tools, have context, clarity and vision about their purpose in life they can accomplish anything ; this is what inspired me to start One Hand Cant Clap in 2000.  ''Anything is possible when we believe in the power of our dreams''.  The future belongs to those who are transforming the world with their passion, leadership, talent and creativity and this is why we do what we do.
